Conservative Nonprofit Debuts Powerful New Ad Urging Congressional Republicans to Protect Health Care Tax Credits

WASHINGTON – Plymouth Union Public Advocacy (PUP Advocacy), a conservative non-profit organization that aims to advance public policies that make America stronger and more prosperous, today launched a powerful new ad urging Republicans in Congress to protect the premium tax credits that help Americans afford to pay for their health insurance.
The ad reads: “The tax credits we use to pay for our health care expire soon, putting our families at risk. We know we can rely on Trump, but we need Congress to act.”
The 30-second spot, “Too Important,” is backed by a six-figure buy and air on TV and digital platforms in Washington, D.C., Idaho, Maine, North Carolina, Alaska, South Dakota, and West Virginia. The ad will specifically target the communities of the following GOP senators:
Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD)
Sen. Mike Crapo (R-ID)
Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV)
Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME)
Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK)
Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC)
This new ad is part of PUP Advocacy’s ongoing seven-figure Tax Cut Protection Project campaign that the group launched in February.
The premium tax credits that help Americans afford their health care are set to expire at the end of 2025 if no action is taken by Congress. These tax credits significantly reduce costs for small businesses and self-employed individuals. Without an extension from Congress, premiums could increase substantially.
